After several days in Antalya surrounded by nearly 700 freight forwarders from around 40 countries, one thing became very clear:
Despite all the AI, automation, webinars, and “digital disruption” headlines… logistics is still a relationship business.
Because when cargo gets stuck, payments get delayed, or customers start panicking at 2AM, people still want trusted partners they actually know.
Real people still matter.
This year was also special because for the first time ever, we moved the X2 Conference outside of Thailand. Naturally, there were questions internally:
Will people travel that far?
Will the atmosphere still work?
Turns out freight forwarders will travel almost anywhere… especially if there’s business opportunities and an open bar involved.
And Antalya delivered both.
What I enjoyed most was the balance: serious business during the day, genuine friendships at night. Hundreds of meetings, spontaneous conversations, old partners reconnecting, and new relationships forming everywhere around the hotel.
Not staged LinkedIn networking. Real networking.
The logistics industry is changing fast, but Antalya reminded me of something important:
Independent freight forwarders are still very much alive — resilient, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and still investing in relationships.
So thank you to everyone who joined us in Turkey and helped make the 11th X2 Conference one of our strongest events yet.
Now comes the important part:
Turning conversations into actual business.
Our special networking event is about smart freight forwarders coming together to grow and develop business within the group by providing an opportunity for all members to gather in one place to form and extend personal relationships.
